It was a thrilling finish to the 2017 Bendigo Bank Mortlock Shield carnival with Great Flinders holding off a very determined Far West to win by three points. Unfortunately it was not enough to win the Mortlock Shield, which this year goes to Lincoln City.

Lincoln City have given themselves a chance of winning the 2017 Bendigo Bank Mortlock Shield with a six-goal win against Lincoln Districts. Lincoln City 9.9 (63) def Lincoln Districts 4.3 (27). One more match to go, who will be this year’s shield winner

Eastern Eyre may not be winning back to back Mortlock Shields this year but they did end their carnival on a high note with a six-goal win against Mid West. Eastern Eyre 10.9 (69) def Mid West 5.3

The opening Monday game at the 2017 Bendigo Bank Mortlock Shield saw a dominant performance by the EP Shark Warriors who were too good against the very game Far North side. We hope to see more from these two teams at next year’s carnival. EP Shark Warriors 11.9 (75) def Far North 3.1 (19)
